We had another opportunity to see, feel, smell and shake a real lulav and etrog. More children gave it a try today.
Everyone was working on building incredible sukkahs until we started to run out of the preferred block sizes. Several children were getting upset. Lots of ideas were expressed and we were able to come to an agreement that suited everyone. It was a great opportunity to learn to listen to one another and figure out how to solve problem without threats or a winner versus loser mentality.
We greeted one another at Morning Meeting and checked out the weather. We recorded the temperature. It was easy for the children to see and feel that it is much warmer than it was last week! The sky was mostly " gray with a little blue."
We learned about Simchas Torah - beginnings and endings... and why we feel so filled with joy on Sukkos and Simchas Torah. We created our own unique hand-printed flags.
We also played outdoors, drank cool water and spent the rest of the day indoors.
