During play time the children worked together to build a city with the new natural tree blocks that Morah Esther gave us!
At the art center the children did still life drawings. Fall items were displayed on the table and the children touched and drew with color pencils what they saw. A still life drawing opportunity serves as a showcase for the child's com-positional skill and ability to render detail and texture.
In morning meeting we spoke about the different shapes and their 3-D shapes. First we drew regular shapes in the air then We showed them how a party hat is a 3-D cone, how a cup is a cylinder , and how a tissue box can be a 3-D square. They demonstrated a lot if interest in learning about the geometric shapes.
